Cantrell Ultimate Rafting's Hinton Base Camp is located on the New River upstream of the New River Gorge and downstream of Bluestone Lake and the junctions of the New and the Bluestone and Greenbrier rivers. Hinton serves as a base for rafting trips on the Upper New River and for fishing trips on the New, Bluestone, and Greenbrier rivers.

UPPER NEW RIVER - HINTON 

This is our ½ day river adventure with some small Class I and II rapids. There is also a taste of whitewater for the adventuresome when you take on the Class III rapid at Brooks Falls. Each trip begins daily at 9:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. and lasts approximately 3-3 1/2 hours. There is built in time for swimming and leisurely floating on this scenic trip that runs about seven miles. Take the one or two person duckie option for an added blast of fun! This adventure is terrific for beginners, scout and church groups, or anybody who wants a leisurely time on one of nature’s most beautiful rivers.

RAFT RENTALS - HINTON

Ultimate Rafting is the only outfitter in the area to offer equipment rental for the Upper New River and Greenbrier River.( EXCLUDES THE LOWER NEW RIVER GORGE AND THE GAULEY RIVER.) Rentals include:

Cabins 

Arrangements may be made for private and state park cabin accommodations throughout the Hinton area. These retreats are generally wooded and secluded but never too far from the activity on the river.

A wide variety of tent sites are available in the Hinton area in state and national parks. Our reservationists can help point you in the right direction and make arrangements for you.
