Reservations are strongly recommended to guarantee your trip. Reservations must be paid in advance in person at the base camps or via telephone by Visa, Mastercard, or Discover. Money orders, cashier's checks, and traveler's checks are also accepted. Personal checks will be accepted 10-days prior to your trip date.

Group rates are available but are valid only if the trip is paid for in advance at a guaranteed number in the party.

Reservation Policy 

Due to West Virginia regulations, we have a set number of passengers we can accommodate daily. For this reason we have the following policy: a deposit of 50 percent per person is required to confirm a reservation. Reservations must be paid in full 30 days prior to your trip. Reservations made fewer than 45 days in advance must be paid in full by cash, traveler's check, money order, cashier's check, or Visa, Master Card, or Discover. No personal checks will be accepted within 20 days of your trip date. Reservations not paid in full 30 days in advance may be cancelled without notice. To qualify for a refund, Cantrell must receive your written notice of cancellation at least 30 days prior to your trip. A $10 handling fee will be deducted for each guest canceling. No refunds will be available for cancellations fewer than 30 days prior to your trip. Gauley reservations cancelled fewer than 45 days prior to your trip will not be refunded.

There will be no refund for those who arrive after their assigned trip has departed.

Refunds & Cancellations

Because operating funds are committed long before trip departure, few if any of these expenses can be recovered on late cancellations. A $10 handling fee will be deducted for each reservation cancelled. If you cancel more than 30 days in advance, we will refund the full reservation amount, less the handling fee. No refund will be made when a reservation is cancelled less than 30 days in advance. All cancellations must be received by us in writing. Because conditions usually improve, we rarely cancel a trip due to inclement weather, but Cantrell reserves the right to change trip format if necessary due to weather conditions, water fluctuations, or other factors beyond our control. It is unlikely, but if we should have to cancel a trip completely, we will refund your payment or reschedule your trip to a later date. Such a refund will be limited to the actual payment made and will not cover any other costs incurred by the trip leader. We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel, without refund, your trip under these conditions: you miss your confirmed trip time, you show signs of being under the influence of intoxicating beverages or controlled substances, you are physically unable to participate in that particular Cantrell adventure.
